NewsGuard is a browser extension will vet your news sources and let you know when you are searching how reliable the sources are.

There is a monthly charge ($2.99/month as of this writing) but they are offering the service free through July 1st, 2020. I am going to try it out and will give some feedback once I decide if I like it enough to pay for it monthly or not.

They, of course, need access to what you are browsing but my reading of their privacy policy indicates that they use data about what you are browsing to provide ratings but do not store it. I’d encourage you to read the privacy policy for yourself – and if you get a different picture about privacy PLEASE let me know!!!
